Q: Thank you Doug for our chat. How does your working day at Swanley Bridge Marina begin?
A; My day begins with a nice cup of coffee with the other members of staff followed by a walk around the Marina to check for any issues that may have arisen overnight that may require prioritising, before resuming my normal duties.
Q:How long have you worked at Swanley Bridge Marina?
A:15 Months
Q: What do you enjoy most about working here?
A:I love the outdoor environment and meeting people.
Q:How best would you describe a typical working day, Doug?
A: Varied.2 days are never the same.
Q:What did you do before life at Swanley?
A: I was self employed in home improvements.
Q:Do you have a Canal boat?
A: Not now, but my wife and I had one for many years.
Q:What was your favourite cruising ground?
A:We loved The Shropshire Union and the Llangollen Canal.
Q:What hobbies do you have in your spare time?
A:Antiques is a long standing hobby and i enjoy visiting National Trust properties and DIY.
Q:What is your favourite song?
A:That has be “Keep on running” by the Spencer Davies Group.
Q:What is your favourite movie?
A:I think I will plump for “War Horse”
Q:Besides Swanley Bridge Marina, where would be your favourite destination?
A:That’s easy! Sorrento in Italy.
Q:What is your favourite meal?
A:Chinese and Cantonese without doubt.
Q:Who is a hero of yours, Doug?
A:Definitely George Best and Denis Law.
