Nantwich

Based only 2 miles away from Swanley Bridge Marina is the historic market town of Nantwich. Dating back to the Roman Times, Nantwich has some of the highest numbers of listed buildings in the UK for a single town. Nantwich is  home to some wonderful restaurants and cafes and Chatwins Bakery. It offers much more than a few shops and supermarkets.

Each year Nantwich hosts the largest cheese show in the world, The Nantwich Show & International Cheese Awards, where business and visitors from across the UK come to exhibit and shop for a variety of cheeses, clothing, crafts, tractors, cars and much much more. Ideally for anyone wanting to visit with a narrow boat, there are moorings just a few yards from the main gate to the show, in fact we think you can moor closer than you can park to the show!

If you are more of a foody, then Nantwich’s own food festival is a must visit for you. Running over 4 days each year the food festival runs throughout the town centre and surrounding side streets. With many exhibitors both local and from afar, you can get something to eat or drink to suit all taste buds. The Food Festival is a great way to explore Nantwich as well, all of the stands and exhibitors will take you around areas of the town you might not have discovered on a normal weekend.
