Dry Dock

We operate 2 DIY sheds as dry docks that you can hire on a weekly basis from Tuesday to Tuesday to work on your own boat. All accommodate your narrowboat under cover and are complete with lighting and 16 amp power outlets. Boats sit safely on blocks so that the work can be carried out at a convenient height.

An advantage in using one of the DIY sheds over a traditional dry dock is that paint cures quicker in a lower moisture environment.

There are many opinions as to how often and how much of the hull should be blacked. To keep your boat in prime condition we recommend blacking every two years. This will ensure that your narrowboats’s hull remains in pristine condition and that corrosion does not take hold reducing the thickness of the bottom plates.

Shot Blasting

Every ten years it would be beneficial to shot blast the hull before blacking. This is also a service that can be arranged.

Note: Due to the popularity of the DIY sheds we recommend booking well in advance.
